Believe in yourself, Learn together, Persevere and Succeed

Headteacher’s Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to Barley Lane Primary School!  We are a large, multicultural primary school with over 870 pupils, located in Goodmayes, Redbridge. This is a very special school which is rooted in five key values: respect, responsibility, compassion, hope and resilience. We recognise that each child is an individual and do our utmost to meet their needs. We encourage children to be responsible, to take initiative and to show consideration to others. Our ultimate aim is for our children to become resilient, well-rounded individuals with a strong sense of self, developed through the culture and values of their community.

The school has a strong leadership team, broad and balanced curriculum, wonderfully energetic staff,  supportive parents and governors, and an active Friends Association. Most importantly, we have some of the most wonderful children in the world!

Our staff work incredibly hard to provide a positive, focused learning environment for the pupils with exciting learning opportunities whilst ensuring that children are safe, happy and nurtured. Our curriculum intent centres on widening the life experiences for our children, with a particular focus on cultural and creative experiences. We celebrate the wonderful diversity within our school community through our curriculum. Children and staff embrace this diversity and we respect one another.

At Barley Lane, we believe that children are better able to reach their potential when we work in effective partnership with parents, carers, external agencies and the local community. To that end, we actively encourage family engagement in school life.

We look forward to working with your child and helping them to achieve their full potential. Please take a 'Virtual Tour' of the school and don't hesitate to contact the office staff to arrange a visit.
