Coronation Day Celebrations

We had a lovely day last Friday celebrating the coronation of King Charles. Children dressed in red white and blue and we had a special lunch. During the afternoon the children enjoyed snacks and even cream teas!
Our year 5 children went to the local church to hear about Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953!
‘Last week, we went to the local church to have a discussion with people from our local community about the Queen's Coronation, which took place in 1953. We spoke about what life was like in the past and asked questions about what happened at the Coronation. A few of them brought artefacts and memorable items to share with us - most of them had a royal symbol of a picture of Queen Elizabeth II on it. We also spoke about what the Coronation in 2023 would be like. We really enjoyed the conversations that we had and hope that we get to do something like this again!’
