Who we are

Barley Lane Primary School Friends Association is the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) for Barley Lane Primary school.

It is a registered charity which aims to enrich the educational and social experience of the children that attend the School. Parents, teachers, and friends of the school work together, with the support of the Head, as members of the PTA to achieve this goal. Parental involvement in school activities has been proven to increase educational success for children.

The BLPSFA is a volunteer run organization. We are always looking for more volunteers to help with special events, committees and to become future officers.

2. Buy school uniform from us
Come to our Tuesday coffee mornings to place your order. Every purchase helps support events and activities sponsored by us. You can also order online at https://www.mapac.com/education/parents/uniform/barleylaneprimaryRM6.

3. Volunteer! Join our committee or simply help at an event
We have two goals when we plan events and activities. The first is to enrich the lives of Barley Lane pupils. The second, is to help all families feel welcome, connected to the school and to each other. Volunteering at school events helps parents build ties with other families and builds strong communities. It also tells our children that school is valuable and important.
Throughout the school year, there are many ways for parents, teachers and friends of the school to volunteer at our events. You can volunteer for just one hour or many more, during the school day or at evenings or weekends; you don’t have to be a committee member to do so.
Email us (BarleyLaneFriends@outlook.com) and let us know how you would like to help.

4. Attend a meeting
Our meetings are held throughout the year on a Monday evening. This is a great opportunity to learn what is going on around school, get to know other parents, and learn how you might like to become more involved. Do join us!
If you can’t attend a meeting, you can email us, or just speak to any member of the committee about your thoughts or questions.

5. Come to our Special Events
We host several special events, including a fireworks spectacular in November and an annual Fun Day. Funds raised go directly to the BLPSFA. Keep an eye out for more information about our events in the FA Newsletter and on our FACEBOOK PAGE

6. Share your fundraising ideas
If you have other good ideas to help us raise funds, please let us know about them. Talk to us in school or email us at BarleyLaneFriends@outlook.com

7. Build our community!
Get connected with other Barley Lane families. Walk to school – walking is a great way to meet families in the area. Sign up to our FACEBOOK PAGE and share!

Thanks for your continued support of all the work that the BLPSFA does.
