On the 23rd June, Year 4 had an intense evening of activities as 61 children camped overnight. After putting their tents up during the school day, the children returned eagerly at 6:30 with rather big bags for the night ahead. What followed was a really enjoy-able evening of: basketball tournaments; competitive treasure hunts; lantern making and a magical time around the campfire singing songs and enjoying marshmallows with hot chocolate. As the sky became darker and the air became colder, the children retreat-ed to their sleeping spaces and SOME sleep was had (we think)! After a breakfast where many children struggled to stay awake, all children were picked up by their parents ready to tell them about the fun, independence and excitement they had experienced. A big thank you to all staff that stayed and contributed to making the night a success.
